About 'Purple Paradise'
Pushing the boundaries of realism and botanical art, this work explores how feeling is built through scale, colour, and contrast.
Set against the contrast of a dark background, a white dove nestles with a pairing of a vibrant canna lily and phalaenopsis orchid. Hot orange generates energy and warmth, while deep purple introduces calm, depth, a sense of femininity and quiet royalty to the scene. The sharp vertical shape of the canna lily contrasts with the soft, patterned delicateness of the orchid. The dove holds the emotional core of the piece, evoking peace, clarity, and sophistication. Around it, the flowers suggest vitality, beauty, and renewal, unfolding within a utopian realm where elegance and natural abundance coexist.
Within Purple Paradise, feeling is not illustrated but formed. It emerges through the push and pull of contrast, colour, scale, and subject matter.
